Metro Art’s Through the Eyes of Artists poster series is celebrating its 20th year by displaying 20 posters from our archives on buses.
Five more of the posters are now being displayed:
- Little Tokyo by Shizu Saldamando, 2009
- Gardena by Jonathan Anderson, 2010
- West Hollywood by iris yirei hu, 2016
- Wilmington by Nuria Ortiz (Ms. Yellow), 2020
- NoHo Arts District by Karl Abramovic, 2005
The posters are by local artists and illustrate the many unique places in L.A. County reachable by Metro. The series — with 63 posters to date — is also a nod to colorful travel destination posters of the past.
As part of the 20th anniversary:
- Five special edition Art on TAP cards — with art from the posters — are available at select TAP machines and Metro Customer Centers.
- Twelve artworks can be viewed in an exhibition, Journeys Continued… in the Union Station Passageway Art Gallery.
- You can read about the first 10 archival posters we released in two previous Source posts here and here.
